AST Ambulance Service was set up as part of a specific solution to serve the Patient Transport needs of a major NHS hospital in Central London . In 1993 St Mary's Hospital was the first NHS Trust in the UK to outsource the supply of Patient Transport to a private company. The two founding directors were there on day one of that historic event and can therefore boast a vast amount of experience in this sector.
Although AST Ambulance Service offers a comprehensive range of services to its clients, we recognise that the backbone of any ambulance service is its ability to provide non-emergency patient transport to the NHS. Our experience can only matched by a select few and it is because of that, you can be sure that any patient we transfer will be safe in our hands.
Our fleet of Patient Transport vehicles also demonstrate our experience in this area. Our Technical Director Tony Hannigan, personally overseas the construction of every new vehicle and draws on his own experience as an Ambulance Driver to ensure that each vehicle is constructed to best serve the needs of the patients that are in our care.

This achievement was due to the systems & procedures we have in place to ensure our ongoing quality control. These strict procedures form the backbone of our Patient Transport Service and ensure that Patient Care is the main focus of everything we do.
