A Service Built Around the Needs of Patients
AST Ambulance Service traces its routes back to 1993, where its two founding directors found themselves working on the first NHS Patient Transport Contract in the UK . Back then the private Ambulance Sector consisted only of Ex-Ambulance Staff often with just one vehicle, trying to support an ailing NHS system. The company we see today was incorporated in 2009 and since day one has strived to provide only the best Vehicles & Staff. This ensures that every patient that travels with us is treated with care they need and the dignity they deserve. Our service remains founded on these values and they continue to form an integral part of our ongoing staff training.
Over the years AST staff have provided support for many NHS Trust's as well as Private Sector organisations.Our reputation has grown and we are now one of the most respected companies in the country - a reputation that is built on both professionalism and care.
The list of services we provide has also grown over the years to include all major areas of Healthcare logistics. Many of these services are detailed throughout the pages of this site. Many you would expect to see, but we also provide a number of less obvious services. Whatever assistance you require from us, you can be sure that the same grounding values are applied in all we do.
A Service that Covers the Whole of the United Kingdom
2008 saw the launch of an ambitious program of expansion within our business. Not only did we launch our Bariatric Service, but we also embarked on a carefully structured plan of opening further offices around the UK . To date, we have opened 3 offices in addition to our main Operational Headquarters in Surrey. We have always offered a countrywide service by working with approved service partners, but now our clients will see the name AST Ambulance Service on more & more vehicles around the country. Every new office has been equipped with the usual high standard of staff & vehicles, all of which are Bariatric capable. Each office is staffed independently, but has the back up of resources from other offices in the surrounding area. This process of expansion has allowed us to become far more competitive on cost, mainly because of resources being more locally placed. Whilst cost has never been a major factor in our service, we realise that this has become more & more important for everyone. Therefore we have strived to pass on the savings we have achieved to our clients.
